Where it began
Yoga found me when I was 20 years old and deployed to Afghanistan. I was doing everything I could to stay strong while carrying experiences I didn't yet know how to process, including the loss of a close friend.
During that deployment, an incredible teacher traveled from base to base offering yoga to soldiers. After my first class with her, I remember feeling something I hadn't felt in a long time: peace. For that one hour, I could breathe, soften, and simply be.
I continued practicing throughout my deployment. I had no idea then that yoga would eventually become part of my life's purpose, but looking back, that first class was the beginning of everything.

In the years that followed, I became a mother and later a single mom living far away from my family. I focused so completely on caring for my daughter that I stopped caring for myself. I struggled with anxiety, brain fog, gut issues, sleepless nights, and feeling disconnected from my body. I could tell my overall health was suffering, but I didn't know how to find my way back.
My perspective changed while caring for my grandfather during the final months of his life. That experience showed me how fragile our health is and how precious our time can be. I began studying holistic wellness, nutrition, psychology, and behavior change. Eventually, I returned to the practice that had first helped me breathe all those years before.
My Journey to Yoga
My journey took me to Bali for my yoga teacher training. Since then, I've had the joy of sharing yoga in many different settings, from local studios and private gatherings to sunset practices and retreats in Belgium and Italy. What matters most to me is not where I teach, but creating a space where people can pause, breathe, and feel cared for.
I'm especially drawn to Yin and restorative yoga because I understand what it feels like to believe you can't slow down or quiet your mind. I approach every class remembering the young woman I was when yoga first found me. My hope is that you leave my classes feeling lighter and more at peace, and that the practice stays with you long after you leave.

My Why
Outside of teaching, I'm a wife and mom, and my family is the greatest joy of my life. I love traveling with my husband, making memories with my daughter, reading, and spending time outdoors. My faith is deeply important to me and continues to shape the way I live and care for others.
As Wellness with KB continues to grow, I hope to bring this work into thoughtfully created retreats where people can step away from everyday life, reconnect with themselves, and experience rest in a deeper way.
Wherever you are in your own journey, I'm so glad you're here.
With love,
KB
